Whose Church?

Like most churches, I'm sure, our attendance goes down over the summer.  But this last Sunday, now October, I looked around and things were awfully sparse, especially considering that we were celebrating our 32nd Anniversary and a fellowship meal was part of the package.
The following day, as I was traveling to an appointment, I started to pray for "my" church, but immediately the Spirit of God said, "Whose church?"  That stopped me dead in my tracks.  I didn't have to spin my wheels wondering what's happening.  (Not my job in the first place.) Oh, how liberating it is when the Lord speaks truth into our finite minds and we get to see things from His perspective.
15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it
